|
The Air Quality and Health Program, which is conducted by the International Laboratory for Air Quality and Health (ILAQH) comprises fundamental and applied research in the complex, interdisciplinary field of air quality and its impact on human health. An area of ILAQH's unique expertise is fine and ultra fine airborne particles. The three main aspects of the Laboratory's research activities are: comprehensive characterization of indoor and outdoor air as well as emission sources; integrated health and environmental risk assessments and strategies for controlling and managing air pollutants. ILAQH's interest is in developing an understanding of the science behind atmospheric trends and patterns, which are globally present and therefore can be used in risk assessment on both the local and global scales. The ability and expertise of ILAQH's staff extends to management, mitigation, interventions and provision of background information for policy making. |
